I’ve only just noticed that it it was you that discovered this locust. Your description of the confirms that it was an overnight blow- in, probably disoriented by the fluorescent lights of Ampol. And then too cold by morning to fly off.
Serendipity is a great thing - the right place at the right time which is why CNMs are so good at this. Despite being pretty observant of grasshoppers I have only seen Lm in the tropics since 1974
